New Equipment Rules
The position as regards recent Class Rule changes is as follows:
Titanium Fittings
Titanium Fittings are banned from 1 March 2006 and shall not be used after that date. See Class Rule <http://www.optiworld.org/2006CR.pdf> 3.2.6.3.
Sails
"Big-top" sails cannot be used after 1 March 2005.
As approved by the 2004 IODA Annual Meeting are approved by the ISAF meeting in November 2004, sails with extended leeches cannot be used at any regatta after 1 March 2005.
Foils (rudders & daggerboards)
Old-style foils must have been measured before 28 February 2005.
New rules for foils came into effect on 1 March 2004 but old-style foils were permitted to be made, sold and measured before 28 February 2005
The only acceptable proof that they were measured before that date is a correctly completed foil measurement form, signed by an official measurer.
Measurers:
To measure NEW-STYLE foils, use the 2004 Class Rules <http://www.optiworld.org/2004CR.pdf> which include a drawing of the rudder, and the new measurement form <http://www.optiworld.org/04foilmeasurement.pdf> Then issue a foil measurement certificate <http://www.optiworld.org/newfoilform.pdf> .
Any measurer finding foils purporting to be made in accord with the new rules which do not, in his opinion, conform to these rules should report the fact to the secretariat
